Exclusive 4x4 trips into the Namib Desert
Coastways Tours is appointed by the Desert Pioneers and the Namibian Government as legitimate Concession holder for several 4x4 self-drive Desert Adventure trips into the Namib Desert (Forbidden Land / Saddle Hill & Spencer Bay / From LÜderitz to Walvis Bay / SOS - X-treme 4x4 Tour).
Furthermore Coastways Tours has the exclusive concession for guided day tours to the old mining town Pomona and the famous “Bogenfels” (Rock Arch).
Pomona / Bogenfels Tour - Full Day - Guided
 “Bogenfels” is the famous, approximately 60 meter high Rock Arch that juts into the Atlantic Ocean south of Lüderitz.
The day tour leads us into the “Sperrgebiet” (forbidden diamond area), where mining activities are still taking place, through breathtaking desert landscapes with an incredible variety of desert plants. The tour includes a visit to the old “ghost” mining town of Pomona where some of the mining equipment dating back to 1910 to 1930 is still reasonably well preserved. The visit to Pomona feels like a journey into the past - when the Germans discovered the first diamond, their harsh living- and difficult working conditions.
A cold Lunch is served in one of the old, but well preserved buildings in Pomona. After lunch the final destination is the “Bogenfels” – allow yourself to get carried away by one of the most spectacular sights in this rugged area.

Itinerary Pomona / Bogenfels Tour
- 09h00 - The tour departs from Lüderitz in our own company vehicles (the Tour Guide will pick up the clients from their accommodation)
- 09h30 - Rotkop Gate – Security Control:
- Sightseeing:
- Grillenthal
- Dunes & Plants (weather permitting)
- Pomona (old mines)
- Pomona (old town) with excellent photographic opportunities
- 12h45 - Cold lunch will be served
- 13h45 - Depart Pomona after lunch - Visit the Bogenfels
- 16h15 - Depart Bogenfels for return to Lüderitz.
- 18h30 - Arrive in Lüderitz

- A copy of Identification Card (Namibian Citizens) or Passport (Foreigners) must be forwarded to our office by Fax or E-mail 10 days in advance
- Provided by us: Vehicle with Guide/Driver and 2-way Radio Lunch, Cool drinks, Beer, Water, Coffee & Biscuits
