Latest News August 2010
Well, we survived another very successful Namibia Tourism Expo. Thank you to all of you, who dropped by the stand, and said hello. This year’s Expo was phenomenal, loads of visitors and we hardly had time to do a bit of looking ourselves.
Furthermore we would like to wish all of you a wonderful and busy high season. Please feel free to contact us, if you run out of brochures. For your convenience we again attach our brochure order form and invite you to fill it in and return to us by Email or fax. Our Website: We have updated and added a lot of information to our website such as detailed info about disabled facilities of those establishments that cater for disabled guests.
ALTE KALKÖFEN LODGE
The lodge opened its doors at the end of July and Frikkie & Hilde are awaiting your bookings. Please note that the restaurant is open for business and your individual guests as well as groups can already enjoy lunch or a cup of coffee. Guests are also more than welcome to visit the lime oven close to the lodge, as well as the very interesting Lithoparium.
EGUMBO LODGE
We are proud to introduce the latest addition to our portfolio – the brand new Egumbo “Lodge” in Walvis Bay.
Overlooking the Walvis Bay Lagoon, Egumbo is an elegant, colonial-style accommodation establishment offering exclusive accommodation. Guests can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine, wines from the selectively stocked cellar, a premium whisky corner and a heated swimming pool.
Rates and information will be sent out in a separate mailing.
FRANS INDONGO LODGE
Firstly the enlargement of the 2 “small’ rooms is finalised. Now the bungalows and the double rooms are all the same size. Also do take note that the telephone numbers have changed:
- • Tel: +264 67 307946/47
- • Fax: +264 67 307948
This change has the effect that internet lines and connections have improved drastically as we have wireless Internet which is great for our guests and conferences.
And most important, it enables us to respond much faster!
KAISOSI RIVER LODGE
We had to say goodbye to Moses – he returned to Zambia to start his own business. Chris Lewis Jnr – the owner’s son who managed the lodge together with Moses for 1 ½ years is now in charge of the entire operation.
LIVING DESERT ADVENTURES
We have brand new flyers for your info packs – you can order them from us!
GUEST FARM KIRIPOTIB
Don’t forget the great Special offer that is on offer at Kiripotib. Book your guests for 3 nights and only pay for 2. And you get 30% commission on top of that. The “clear” nights during this time of the year attract a number of star gazers – remember that Kiripotib has state of the art facilities to accommodate these guests.
KAPIKA WATERFALL CAMP
After a lot of headaches Greg is very happy to advise that the lodge is finally open for business. He sincerely apologizes for the delays and any inconveniences caused.
Pam and her team are looking forward to receiving your guests. The campsite is not yet open for business, as there are still a few things to be done.
We will keep you updated on this progress.
KUPFERQUELLE RESORT
We just want to advise once again that the concept at Kupferquelle is a bit different to other accommodation establishments. All meals are served in the Dros Restaurant which is a Franchise Restaurant, operated separately from the accommodation. We urge you to please inform your guests and brief the guides accordingly.
Dinner Bookings:
- We have Dros menus at the office to hand out, so that you and/or the guests can look beforehand and plan a “group dinner” according to your budget. NB. Please request the menu from us either in hard copy or electronically as a PDF file
- Alternatively you only book Bed & Breakfast and leave dinner at A la carte for guests own account.
LÜDERITZ NEST HOTEL
The revamped restaurant looks awesome. Well done to Ulf and his team. As already mentioned previously the Nest Hotel now offers sight seeing tours in and around Lüderitz, and these can be booked at reception. Rates will be available shortly and we will distribute them as soon, as we have them.
MESOSAURUS FOSSIL CAMP
Nolene advised that they are experiencing some problems with guests, who arrive well after sunset. This causes some operational problems for them, as they close the reception office at 17h00. They have requested that you please inform your guests, that they should try to be at the camp latest by 16h30 or notify the Steenkamps of a late arrival.
Then she would also like to remind you that they do not have a restaurant, so they are not able to provide meals on short notice, i.e. when guests turn up with no meal reservations. These have to be booked beforehand, because they do not have storage facilities to keep stock on the premises. They always only get enough provisions for the pre-booked meals.
Please do inform your guests and make sure, that if they want meals at Mesosaurus, that these are booked in advance.
OKAHANDJA COUNTRY HOTEL
All Rooms were refurbished – please view pictures of the “new” rooms on our website!
ROSTOCK RITZ DESERT LODGE
Here we would like to remind you of the special offer of book 3 nights and pay for only 2, which is still running until the end of October 2010.
TOSHARI LODGE
Toshari Lodge now boasts 4 new open game drive vehicles. Each can comfortably accommodate 9 persons. The full day game drives include a delicious picnic lunch at one of Etosha’s picnic spots. All driver-guides are trained and we are convinced that your clients will enjoy and appreciate this open-vehicle experience.
ZELDA GAME & GUEST FARM
The new brochure is ready and it looks really very stunning. Please order yours now. Zelda Game & Guest Farm also now offers a new activity – night game drives. These will depart at 20h00 in the evening and take about one hour.
Also we would like to remind you of the Be Wild Experience, where guests can spend time with the bushmen on a nature walk, and ion the evening there is dancing around the fire.
Guests overnight in bushmen-style huts in a camp about 5km away from the main lodge. In the morning after breakfast you return to the lodge and continue on your journey, or spend another evening at Zelda, enjoying the tranquil gardens.
If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
