Transkalahari Walk

Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge / Teufelskralle Tented Lodge offers it’s visitor another exciting High-Light - the “Trans Kalahari Walk”. This is a 2-day guided walk through the breathtaking dune-landscape of the Kalahari with 2 nights spent at Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge and 1 night in Teufelskralle Tented Lodge.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1

Arrival at the Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge after 14h00
Afternoon is spent at leisure. Possibility of game watching at a nearby waterhole, relaxing at the pool or participation in a scenic drive
Overnight at Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge (Dinner & Bed)

DAY 2

Full Day walk with picnic brunch en route
Early departure to be able to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee from the top of a dune. The day’s walk leads through the typical red Kalahari Dunes crossed by tree savannahs with the possibility of watching various game species at close range.
Overnight at a luxury tented camp (Barbeque, Bed & Bush Breakfast)

DAY 3

Half day guided walk with a visit to the “Devil’s Claw” Project.
After breakfast the walk continues with a first stop at the Devil’s Claw Project, where this endangered desert plant is being scientifically cultivated. Thereafter the walk leads through grass and bush savanna <and there is a good possibility to see Impala, Black Wildebeest and Nyala. After approx. 3 hours arrive back at Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge.
